Two groups in this field, the ICZM-Oder project and the multi-lateral, global acting organization, Land-Ocean Interactions in the Coastal Zone (LOICZ), have joined forces to organize the regional conference. The projects, Coastal Zone Management in the Baltic Sea (COASTMAN), Baltic Sea Region INTERREG III B, Developing Policies and Adaptation Strategies to Climate Change in the Baltic Sea Region (ASTRA), and Science and Policy Integration for Coastal Systems Assessment (SPICOSA) will provide additional support. The German-Polish Common Environmental Commission (Gemeinsame Umweltkommission) (GUK) has also expressed an interest in supporting this event. The ICZM-Oder conference coordinator is the Social Science Research Center Berlin (Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung) (WZB).
